Kathelyn session was very special, she is an Dominion Christian School 2025 senior and we had an amazing time together.
We laughed, talked about her future plans and enjoyed the most beautiful weather and location during the session. Her vision for the photos was very clear, she wanted to use nature as the background, incorporate flowers and golden light and the results showed just that.
I usually write my blog post and share a bit of the session and the vision that together with my client but this time I wanted to let Katelyn’s mom Christine to be the one writing this open letter to her daughter, a special young girl, that has overcome a lot of challenges.
” To my daughter:
At just 14 days old, Katelyn had to undergo the first of three open-heart surgeries. As a nurse, I knew the reality of what lay ahead . I was always hopeful, but I’d be lying if I said I knew we’d made it to this moment. There were a lot of critical times.
But my baby is a fighter!
She faced every surgery, every hospital stay, every uncertain moment with courage and strength beyond her years. And now, here we are about to watch her walk across the stage and graduate High school next week. Words cannot express how proud I am of her!
Katelyn is heading into a future that’s come full circle: she has been accepted at UNG and on her way to becoming a pediatric CVICU nurse, just like the incredible nurses who once cared for her.
Her journey, her heart, and her strength will be a Godsend to the families in those ICUs- parents starting downs at their babies, hoping, praying, and wondering if their child will ever be ok.
She will be their peace, She will be their hope. Just as we once needed someone to be ours.
Congratulations to my sweet girl. You’ve already change the world, and you’re just getting started.
